The Austin Winery is an urban winery that sources their grapes from the best regions in the country. The fermentation process then is completed in central Austin at their winery. The winery also is a public gathering spot perfect for weekend day trips and business meet-ups.
The Austin Winery approached me about re-doing their website design, and in helping them with their marketing strategy.
To get a better understanding of the digital wine landscape, I went out and researched the other top wineries in the country. I spoke to the owners about what users use their websites for. As a result of my research, I learned that winery websites are primarily used as a research tool of the winery and thus should be a visually appealing ‘story’ of the Austin Winery.
Given that the winery is also used as a weekend trip, I also focused on incorporating yelp/facebook reviews and then promoting them on the website.
